I know, I know. Snail mucin. Believe me, I have tried to get my Mum onboard with said ingredient for months. It sounds vile, but it really is worth slathering all over your face.
Snail mucin is renowned for its ability to heal damaged skin. Mucin (I know, I might have lost you by now), is the slime that snails leave when they move, and has become the foundation for god knows how many K-Beauty products. Snail mucin seals in moisture and allows active ingredients to penetrate quicker and deeper. It reduces redness, is incredibly soothing, and has fewer allergens than most other anti-aging products on the market. Still not sold? Snail mucin also builds up the resilience of your skin and helps imperfections heal faster.
The mask pack has a watery gel consistency, but don’t fret; you won’t feel as though a snail has decided to slide all over your gorgeous face. The mask itself is made of cotton, which feels extremely comfortable to the touch. It sinks in quickly, is visibly hydrating, and leaves a film of residue that can be absorbed after a few minutes of patting the skin. You literally look glowing after using this product, which FYI should be enough to convert even the most squeamish of mollusks (I am talking to you, Mum!).
I love to use this product year round, but I especially love it if I am going somewhere hot with the potential of too much sun exposure. It is amazing as a cooling, calming anti-inflammatory treatment. Additionally, I love to whack this on my face after playing around with my Ziip microcurrent device. If you really want to hammer the results home, combine this mask pack with the Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence. Who knew I would grow to love such a lowly garden creature?
